Beyond the Classroom: Collingwood School Students Explore Agricultural Innovation
PHNOM PENH, March 3, 2026 — Learning came to life last week as students from Collingwood School Phnom Penh embarked on an immersive field trip to the renowned Mong Rithy Senchey Agriculture-Tourism Resort. The excursion, held on February 27, proved to be a transformative experience, bridging the gap between textbook theories and the realities of modern sustainable farming.
A Masterclass in Sustainability
The resort served as a living laboratory where students explored the intersection of technology, nature, and commerce. Key learning outcomes included:
- Animal Husbandry: Observing high-standard livestock management and understanding the biology and care required for healthy agriculture.
- Natural Resource Management: Learning about the effective use of land and water to ensure long-term food security.
- Environmental Conservation: Identifying how modern farms can operate in harmony with nature rather than in competition with it.
Developing the “Whole Student”
From our perspective at 91¿ì»îÁÖ×îаæ, the true value of this Collingwood tour was the development of “soft skills” in a “hard work” environment. Outdoor observation and hands-on activities helped students build:
- Collaborative Spirit: Navigating the farm required students to help one another, fostering a deeper level of cooperation than a standard classroom setting allows.
- Real-World Awareness: Moving from the urban center of Toul Kork to an agricultural hub gave students a holistic view of Cambodia’s diverse economic landscape.
- Active Inquiry: Encouraging students to ask “how” and “why” as they observed the life cycles of plants and animals firsthand.
We congratulate the faculty and students of Collingwood School for a successful expedition. It is through these “green” adventures that we cultivate the informed, environmentally conscious leaders of tomorrow.
